The legs were still carrying some of the after-effects of Sunday's race, so there was no temptation to push the pace. The plan was simply an easy 8km along the promenade and to let the body do a bit of work without adding too much extra fatigue. My hamstring was feeling a little tight at the start, but thankfully it loosened up as the run progressed and never became a problem.

For the most part I stayed comfortably in Zone 2, although the wind was against me for the last 4k, so I had to put in a bit more effort to maintain the pace I was aiming for. Nothing dramatic, though - just a little drift into Zone 3. Overall, everything went well.

The 10K PB is still very much in the legs, so tonight wasn't about proving anything. Just getting out, running comfortably and letting the recovery continue.

Beachy Head Half Marathon 2026 Training Block - Week 8/11 8km Easy Run - Worthing Seafront After the maximum-effort 10K at the weekend, tonight was very much about keeping things comfortable.
