United Dance emerged in 1994 with its earliest events taking place at the Stevenage Arts & Leisure Centre in Hertfordshire. Founded by DJ and promoter Chris “Eruption” Brown, United Dance initially collaborated with other promoters such as Temptation. Through the mid-to-late 1990s, the brand expanded beyond Stevenage, hosting larger events and eventually moving into major London venues such as Bagleys, while also launching the United Dance Recordings label. By the late 90s and early 2000s, United Dance had become one of the UK’s most recognisable rave promoters.
