Just Keeping the Legs Moving
Beachy Head Half Marathon 2026 Training Block - Week 11/11
One more run ticked off, and we're nearly there. Today's was the penultimate planned run before Beachy Head Half Marathon: an easy 5.5km to keep the legs moving without putting any unnecessary strain on them. There wasn't much to get excited about. The weather was windy, damp, grey and generally miserable - the sort of conditions that make staying indoors with a cup of something hot seem like a much better idea.

My legs also felt a little stiffer than I'd expected. Nothing particularly concerning, but not quite the light and springy feeling I'd ideally like at this stage of the taper. Still, this wasn't a session that needed to be anything special. The plan was simply to get out, keep the effort easy and let the training do its work.
I headed out along the familiar Worthing promenade, keeping a steady Zone 2 effort on the way out and back, with a loop around the pier thrown in for good measure.

Despite the weather and the stiffness, the run was straightforward enough. I maintained a comfortable endurance pace throughout, with minimal effort and no temptation to push things harder than necessary.
One more easy run to go, then it's time to find out what all those miles have been building towards. Beachy Head is getting very close now.
